International students who may have not met the long-established entry requirements in US universities need not fret since Shorelight’s UStart now allows students to complete it and proceed to Cleveland State Global at Cleveland State University for their undergraduate degree.

UStart provides a unique and encouraging platform for international students to establish strong academic skills and cultural awareness towards pursuing a US university degree.

Key Takeaways:

  • The UStart program helps international students get their US university degree even though they have not met the typical entry requirements.
  • UStart offers a flexible program structure, allowing students to study at their own pace.
  • Students can pursue their degree program at CSU upon completion of the UStart program.

According to Dr. Sarah West of Cleveland State Global, they work with compassion in ensuring that talented international students succeed academically, professionally, and socially. As a response, UStart has been introduced as an opportunity to do so.

UStart encourages students regardless of their background to apply and experience a mix of academic courses, English language instruction, and one-on-one advising.

It has a flexible program structure that enables students to study and learn at their own pace: UStart has a minimum of two semesters available with 24-30 credits earned while UStart Track 2 has the same number of semesters available with 24 credits earned.

Upon completion of UStart, students are eligible to proceed with their degree program at CSU without needing to submit another application. To continue their degree program in CSU, UStart students must complete the program with good standing.

In essence, UStart provides a clear path for students to pursue a US university degree without being pressured with the processes of both admissions and acceptance.

Dr. Robert Schleper of Cleveland State Global underscored the difficulties in pursuing a US university degree, that’s why they offer UStart to provide social and cultural support, individualized academic advising, language services, and in-house coursework directed towards student success.
