United Kingdom – The UK and Indian government has created a Migration and Mobility Partnership that helps build a strong relationship on student recruitment for UK institutions. Before the end of 2021, India and the UK seek to support and promote the two-way mobility of a bigger group of students, researchers and teachers. There will be more short stay and multiple-entry visas to promote economic, cultural, and scientific relations between the two countries. Indian students will be allowed entry and study in the UK provided that they meet the requirements of their preferred academic program.

The Young Professionals Scheme allows individuals aged 18 to 30 years old to remain in the UK to participate in two-year professional exchanges.

Students who have completed higher education studies will have the opportunity to do work or join internships for up to 12 months in their partner country.

Another great option is to apply for the Global Talent visa, which allows qualified individuals to work and stay for up to 5 years in the UK. This is possible without any attachment to a sponsor. According to Universities UK International (UUKi) Director Vivienne Stern, “The migration and mobility partnership reinforces the value of the reciprocal mobility of students, academics, researchers and young professionals to facilitate economic, social, and cultural development.”

With the 2030 Roadmap for India-UK future relations, UK institutions will have better student recruitment as more connections are made between the two nations. There will be ongoing trade, investment and technological collaboration that attracts international students in pursuing their careers abroad.
