The University for the Creative Arts (UCA) extends its assistance to international students traveling to the campus with a special announcement on the updated travel policies in the United Kingdom, effective Oct. 21, 4 a.m.

The rules for international travel to England will change, excluding the amber list. Instead, there will only be a ‘red list’ and the ‘rest of the world (green) list.

Key Takeaways:

  • UCA assists international students coming from different countries and territories with the latest UK travel policies.
  • Policies on international travel to England will change starting from Oct. 21 at 4 a.m.
  • UCA students need to provide proof of vaccination status.

Students who are traveling from countries and territories not on the ‘red list’ will refer to their vaccination status to know whether they will have to self-isolate on arrival in the UK or not. They must be able to prove that they have been fully vaccinated (14 days have passed since their final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine) under one of these programs:

  • Under an approved vaccination program in the UK, Europe, United States, or UK vaccine program overseas;
  • With a full course of the Oxford/AstraZeneca, Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna, or Janssen vaccines from a relevant public health body in Australia, Antigua, and Barbuda, Barbados, Bahrain, Brunei, Canada, Dominica, Israel, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, New Zealand, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, or Taiwan. Mixing between two-dose vaccines (Oxford/AstraZeneca, Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna) in this list is also recognized; and
  • Under a formally approved COVID-19 vaccine clinical trial in the United States, Canada, and Australia, and have proof of participation (digital or paper-based) from a public health body.

UCA students may prove their vaccination status with a document (digital or paper-based) from a national or state-level public health body. This includes, as a minimum, their forename and surname(s), date of birth, vaccine brand and manufacturer, date of vaccination for every dose, and country or territory of vaccination and/or certificate issuer.

Students at UCA from a country not on the ‘red list’ and have been fully vaccinated under their programs for at least 14 days must book and pay for a COVID-19 test. The test must be completed on or before day two of their arrival.

Students will also be required to complete their passenger locator form any time in the 48 hours before they land in England.

Other travel guidelines from the ‘rest of the world’ if students are not fully vaccinated, traveling from ‘red list’ countries, and other travel guidelines will be regularly updated by UCA on the Coronavirus web page.

UCA is also offering to pay up to £210 toward the cost of the day two and/or day eight COVID-19 travel tests of students. The costs will only be reimbursed for one entry to the UK.
