Canada—International students can sigh relief as Niagara College – Toronto has temporarily amended its withdrawal and refund policy to accommodate those whose study permits are still in process.
For students starting the September 2021 intake, the refund policy is extended until December 13, 2021. This will give students ample time and peace of mind as they wait for the approval of their study permit applications. A full refund, excluding the $200, is guaranteed. But they have to make sure to follow all the deadlines and terms and conditions.
Students must follow the following requirements to qualify for these changes:
- Students must have provided Niagara College – Toronto with proof of study permit application submitted to the IRCC by uploading it to the NCToronto Student portal by September 8, 2021.
- If the study permit is rejected, the student can officially withdraw from their chosen academic program through the official NCToronto Student Portal by December 13, 2021, and upload proof of study permit rejection decision from the IRCC.
In addition, the last day to defer or withdraw from the program is on September 21, 2021. The extended last day to defer chosen program to a future term is on October 29, 2021. Afterward, deferring or withdrawing is no longer allowed unless a study permit rejection from the IRCC is received by December 13, 2021. In turn, December 31, 2021, is the last day to withdraw from the program or receive a full refund excluding the $200 if you have received a study permit rejection. If there is no decision by the said date, students can continue the term with no refund.
