United States – While many universities across the United States have made COVID-19 vaccination mandatory for students and staff, Adelphi University in New York has chosen a different path.
To encourage vaccine adoption, Adelphi will be offering incentives to students who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Students will need to voluntarily notify the school of their vaccine status by uploading a copy of their completed CDC vaccination card in Adelphi’s COVID-19 Dashboard.
Students and staff who can upload proof of full vaccination between June 1 and August 1, 2021, can choose from the following:
- $25 Panther dollars (can be used at any dining location on campus)
- $25 Adelphi Bookstore and spirit shop gift card
- $25 Panera gift card
- $25 Starbucks gift card
They will also be entered in a raffle and get a chance to win the following prizes:
- A reserved parking space on the Garden City campus for the fall semester
- Two tickets to a New York Mets game
- Two tickets to a New York Yankees game
- Two tickets to an Adelphi PAC performance
- Two round-trip LIRR tickets to New York City
- Wellness gear (folding bicycles, air fryers, blenders)
