Universities that support diversity among students, teachers, and staff will be honored with the INSIGHT Into Diversity Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award in 2021. INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education, awards the recognition.

It can also be recalled that INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine has recognized Adelphi University’s Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program/Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP/STEP) in the 2021 Inspiring Programs in STEM Award.
Moreover, Adelphi began recognizing transgender students and staff who choose to alter their identities on their identification cards without changing their names officially in 2021.
The university also established an LGBTQ+ and Allies Excellence Fund to support LGBTQIA+ students with scholarships.
Adelphi’s groundbreaking Learning Resource Program, which began in 1979, cemented the university’s reputation for embracing neurodiversity among its students. The Bridges to Adelphi program, which was developed to help students with autism, carries on the heritage.
