More than 400 short-term classes in popular subject areas are available at the College of the Canyons (COC) for new and returning students. The institution has already commenced its fall semester on Aug. 23.
The fall 2021 class schedule does not only offer a wide variety of options for students but is also created to address the various needs of the campus community. Many of COC’s five-week and eight-week short-term classes will begin throughout the months of September, October, and November.
Key Takeaways:
- More than 400 short-term classes are available this fall at the College of Canyons.
- Many of COC’s short-term classes last for five to eight weeks, unlike the traditional 16-week classes.
- COC’s registration for its Personal and Professional Learning (PPL) classes are also underway.
Among the subjects that will be offered as COC’s short-term classes are anthropology, English, math, sociology, culinary arts, communication, photography, dance, history, and counseling.
These short-term classes provide students the flexibility to start classes at various dates throughout the semester. Students will also be able to complete the classes in less time than the conventional classes that run for a total of 16 weeks.
To further make the classes accessible for both new and returning students, these will be delivered in-person, online, or in hybrid formats.
These short-term classes will help students achieve their goals whether they want to get ahead in their jobs, dive into another field of study, advance their current career, or learn competencies that will allow them to launch a career of their own.
The short-term classes will be open for registration until classes are filled. Interested students may learn more details, apply for admission, and register for COC’s fall semester short-term classes by checking the class schedule.
COC has also announced the availability of classes at the School of Personal and Professional Learning (PPL), designed for individuals of all ages and skill levels, who want to learn a new skill, explore a passion or develop a new interest, or complete high school education. PPL classes are free.
Registration for more than 200 PPL classes, which include Adobe Photoshop certification training, basic computer skills, career skills, hotel front desk training, Maya user certification training, and Spanish for health care workers, is ongoing.
These PPL classes have varying start dates throughout the fall 2021 semester.
