The Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) has entered a major partnership with Global Banking School (GBS) to offer students outside of Kent a four-year Business and Tourism Management degree with Foundation Year.

While the program is validated by the university and leads to a degree, it will also be delivered at various GBS campuses in London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Leeds. GBS is known for offering a wide range of industry-focused undergraduate and postgraduate banking and finance courses.

Key Takeaways:

  • Global Banking School (GBS).
  • GBS is a leading higher education provider with its industry practitioners as instructors.
  • The partnership enables the organizations to offer Business and Tourism Management and Accounting and Financial Management.

CCCU partnered with GBS in the pursuit of their shared objective of increasing students’ access to higher education and of providing greater opportunities for them.

Now that the university is able to tie up with GBS, it will be able to offer Business and Tourism Management and Accounting and Financial Management. Moreover, the university is also developing Postgraduate Taught and Research programs and collaborative opportunities on Ph.D. research programs.

The first intake of the Business and Tourism Management course was held in June 2021 and further intakes will be done this September and in January 2022.

Meanwhile, the new Accounting and Financial Management program will commence in September 2021, with further intakes in 2022.

According to Professor Mohamed Abdel-Maguid, Pro Vice-Chancellor (STEM) and Dean of Science, Engineering and Social Sciences, CCCU is very delighted to work with GBS with a shared objective of transforming lives through excellent higher education.

Abdel-Maguid added that the major partnership will strengthen and increase their opportunities to support additional harder-to-reach students and communities.

The first June 2021 intake of GBS has drawn over 1,300 students, and it is projected that significant growth will be achieved by both parties with the announcement of the major partnership.
