DMU’s Leicester Castle Business School, one of the UK business schools chosen to deliver the course beginning next month, will be running the management course. It will be 90 percent funded by the government to help businesses drive growth and protect jobs.
According to Dyneshia Johnson, program leader and an expert on management and leadership, DWU is passionate about extending support to small businesses to learn from real-life examples and succeed. Johnson added that the experienced academics from the institutions would be the ones to deliver the course alongside other business leaders.
The university’s management course is also being backed by Chancellor Rishi Sunak, who announced it in the latest budget report.
Since the management course caters to senior managers and leaders of SMEs, students can take the lessons while still managing their businesses. They will have access to mentoring and tap the alumni network.
The course will take place for over three months and include online and in-person sessions alongside peer support and mentoring. This means that despite their busy schedules, SMEs can still learn from comprehensive modules that will cover financial management, leadership in a high-performance workplace, growth and innovation strategies, and digital adoption.
The study timeframe comprises eight facilitated online two-hour sessions, one-to-one mentor support, four practical and interactive workshops, peer networking, and access to the alumni events with business clinics, inspirational speakers, and networking events.
Toward the end of the management course, business leaders are expected to develop a tailored business growth strategy to drive their business to its full potential.
