RIT/NTID started its first-ever Cybersecurity Bootcamp initiative for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals in April 2021.

The initiative aims to fulfill the growing need for information security analysts and the demands of companies looking for candidates with cybersecurity expertise.

Participants in the boot camp will participate in a virtual simulation of a firm with real-world activities and exercises in an on-the-job training setting and live remote interactions with instructors, teaching assistants, and other students.

The boot camp will prepare participants for roles in the cybersecurity field, such as cyber technician, cyber investigator, cyber incident responder, and IT auditor.

Participants who will complete the boot camp will receive job preparation and placement assistance.

Moreover, those who complete the program and pass a skills-based assessment will receive an RIT Global Cybersecurity Institute Cybersecurity Bootcamp Certificate.

They will also have participated in activities that will help them prepare for industry-standard certifications such as CompTIA Security+ and Cybersecurity First Responder. Graduates will be given a coupon to sit for industry certification examinations.
