Tamwood International College’s work and study, ESL, pathway, W&T, and junior programs for international students who wish to pursue their higher education in Canada took the spotlight during the Abcodo webinar held on Nov. 16.

Silvina Berry, Sales Manager for Tamwood, presented the offerings and opportunities at Tamwood Careers while Pooja Harshe, Admissions Manager, served as the facilitator of the virtual event attended by representatives from the international education community.

Key Takeaways:

  • Tamwood International College presented the work and study, ESL, pathway, W&T, and junior programs for international students in the Abcodo webinar.

  • Tamwood Careers offers a more flexible intake schedule than a university and a lower price than traditional degree programs.

  • Tamwood’s dual diploma program allows students to work full-time in the co-op term in their first program.

By teaching, coaching, and encouraging students to achieve their goals, Tamwood has already transformed 71,203 lives to date, nearing its goal of transforming 100,000 lives.

Founded in 1992 by Tamsin Plaxton and Matthew Collingwood, Tamwood now has three divisions and a sister company that offers a variety of educational, vacation, employment, and travel programs and other services and assistance to ensure students gain new skills.

Tamwood’s programs aid in developing current skills, the discovery of talents, and the permanent transformation of its students.

Careers vs. Uni Degree

Making students work-ready is the primary goal of Tamwood in delivering its programs. Canada has plentiful job placement opportunities, and the institution allows students to choose the length of their programs.

Apart from the affordable price compared to traditional degree programs, Tamwood Careers offers a more flexible intake schedule than a university.

The program offerings at Tamwood Careers cover business, technology, hospitality, and entrepreneurship. Specifically, the programs are digital marketing, web development, food and beverage, and marketing for start-ups, among others.

Tamwood features co-op programs that provide students with work and study opportunities, pathway options, affordable fees, flexible intakes, and lower eligibility requirements for admission.

The institution also partnered with Digital Marketing Institute to integrate the latter’s innovative and industry-leading digital marketing certifications into Tamwood Careers’ Digital Marketing programs.

Dual Diploma and Pathway Programs

Tamwood’s dual diploma program allows students to work full-time in the co-op term in their first program and the five months between programs to save money to pay the tuition and expenses for their second program.

Essentially, this program allows students to earn two diplomas in two years and combine programs to have marketable skills.

Moreover, Tamwood offers an ESL Pathway Program and Academic Pathways. Students can get credit transfers, lower tuition costs, and become eligible for post-graduation work permits through these pathways.

Tamwood students can also study for a year at Tamwood Careers then transfer credits to a partner institution, including Capilano University, University Canada West, Vancouver Community College, and Selkirk College.
