With the University of Windsor receiving approval to reopen to international students from outside of Canada, the university’s Student Center is now open from Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. However, visitors will need to follow preventive measures upon entry.

To help streamline the process, student employees from the information desk will be stationed at the entrance to help guests sign in. Currently, businesses and services are welcoming patrons by appointment only. Upon entry to the university’s student center, visitors will be asked to present a green badge on the Safe Lancer application.

Key Takeaways:

  • The University of Windsor student center is now open from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Precautionary measures are still required by the student center.
  • The student center plans to prepare for more services to be available in September.

According to Eric Johnston, general manager of the University of Windsor Students’ Alliance, the plan is that the student center can iron out any issues and prepare for more services to be available in September.

“One family, along with their incoming first-year student, has already stopped by and were able to fill out the paper version of the Safe Lancer App and take a look at the beautiful new renovations and space inside the center,” he added.

Prior to this decision to finally open the student center, it has gone virtual to continue to provide support and services such as virtual services, general inquiries related to international student services and supports, Green Shield (OHIP Equivalent Health Coverage), student exchange, study permit, VISA and Immigration questions, and arrival and quarantine concerns.

Future changes to the rules or operations of the student center are anticipated to be posted soon.
