Key Takeaways:

  • University of the Pacific’s students returned to campus for face-to-face learning on July 17.
  • “Back to Pacific: Ready, Set, Roar!” is a five-week special designed for first- and second-year students to kickstart their college experience.
  • The University of the Pacific requires returning students and employees to get vaccinated for COVID-19.

New and undergraduate students of the University of Pacific finally returned to campus on July 17, after 16 months of online school activities, for a five-week special called Back to Pacific: Ready, Set, Roar!

With this memorable experience, students can return to campus early, move into the residences where they will be living during the regular academic year, and enjoy other face-to-face activities they were unable to do in the past months.

Primarily designed for first- and second-year students, the program aims to provide students an avenue to meet new people and immerse themselves in fun daily campus activities.

Scout Cooper-Wilson, president of the Associated Students of University of the Pacific, tagged returning to campus as “coming home,” particularly because most students were left in a muddle when they had to do their classes and other school activities online.

During the reception at the Don and Karen DeRosa University Center, Pacific President Christopher Callahan and First Lady Jean Callahan were full of excitement to see the students.

With “Back to Pacific: Ready, Set, Roar!” being launched, nearly 150 students have started moving into housing, residential halls, on-campus apartments, and Greek houses.

To ensure the safety of everyone, the University of the Pacific continues to adhere to the state and country guidelines for acceptable health and safety practices. The institution also compels students of all levels and employees returning to any of the university’s three campuses to get their COVID-19 vaccinations.
