To provide students with a guaranteed safe and healthy return to in-person instruction and learning for the Fall 2021 term, NorQuest College has laid out the latest updates on the policies to be implemented in the institution.

For the month of September, all individuals coming to the campus are required to undergo regular rapid testing if they have not been vaccinated against COVID-19. Those who do not wish to disclose their vaccination status will have to regularly complete a rapid screening test and must receive a negative result prior to joining in-person activities on the campus.

Key Takeaways:

  • NorQuest College requires all individuals going to the campus to undergo regular rapid testing in case they have not yet been vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • NorQuest has also provided policies for those who intend not to disclose their vaccination status.
  • NorQuest plans to provide vaccines to students, faculty, and community members through the two-day vaccine clinic

Developed to maintain the health and safety of the campus community, the new measures announced by NorQuest College follow similar measures announced by other post-secondary institutions in Alberta.

NorQuest also provided these new measures to fully commit to their initiatives of providing exceptional educational experiences for their students, thus continuing to monitor the health and safety situation to review the policies continuously as the times call for it.

While new measures are in place, most programs at NorQuest College will continue to be delivered through NorQuest’s HyFlex model and a mix of in-person, asynchronous, and virtual activities for Fall 2021.

According to Jill Matthew, vice president for administration, chief financial officer, and Emergency Operations Committee lead, they are eager to welcome back to campus the learners, faculty, staff, and the whole NorQuest community.

The university is working closely to guarantee a safe, welcoming, and positive environment for learning as NorQuest lets the students experience the in-person activities.

Moreover, the institution has also announced that non-medical face masks must not be worn in all public indoor areas at the college where social distancing measures are not possible.

NorQuest also planned a two-day vaccine clinic on Sept. 15-16 to provide vaccines against COVID-19 for those who are not yet fully inoculated. The institution has ensured that students, employees, and members of the community will be notified about the plans for the clinic as soon as possible.
