This September, students, staff, and community members of Niagara College Canada will be able to receive a first or second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine on campus through the GO-VAXX bus mobile vaccination clinic.

The GO-VAXX bus is the result of the Ontario government’s partnership with Metrolinx to provide a convenient option for people to receive their vaccines against COVID-19.

Key Takeaways:

  • The Ontario government partnered with Metrolinx to establish GO-VAXX buses.
  • The GO-VAXX buses aim to provide a new and convenient option for people to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • The GO-VAXX buses will be on Niagara College’s campus for drop-ins on Sept. 13 and 20.

The mobile vaccination clinic will be on Niagara College’s campus for drop-ins on Sept. 13, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Welland Campus in parking lot A (east side) and on Septe. 20, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake in parking lot A (south side).

Aside from on-campus operations, the GO-VAXX buses also travel to malls, festivals, community hubs, and events throughout the summer and fall as part of the province’s last-mile strategy to target those who have yet to receive a first or second dose.

The buses are composed of fully functional supplies and trained staff to provide assistance and vaccine administration safely.

Niagara College reminds its students and staff to bring their health cards and asks not to visit the mobile vaccination clinic if they are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19.

In the absence or expiration of the health card, the college also noted that students and staff must bring another form of government-issued photo identification such as a passport, status card, driver’s license, or birth certificate instead.

Niagara College has taken the necessary steps to bring its students, employees, and contractors to the campus, including these on-campus mobile vaccination clinics. All individuals returning to the campus for college business must declare their vaccination status.
