By officially launching its new campus in Dubai, De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) celebrated claiming “a seat at the world’s table.”

To commemorate the launch of DMU’s first international campus, a crowd of staff, alumni, students, and officials gathered at the campus in Dubai’s International Academic City.

Key Takeaways:

  • DMU has opened its first international campus in Dubai, where students can enroll in a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
  • DMU Dubai’s launch corresponds with DMU’s participation in Expo 2020.
  • The Dubai campus offers programs in cyber security, psychology, accounting and finance, engineering, human resource management, and fashion marketing.

According to Professor Katie Normington, DMU’s Vice-Chancellor of DMU, a campus in Dubai provides DMU with an unparalleled seat at the global table, from which it can truly contribute to setting the global agenda.

Normington emphasized that higher education in the United Kingdom is regarded as some of the greatest in the world.

Cyber Security, Architecture, Psychology, Accounting and Finance, Engineering, Human Resource Management, and Fashion Marketing will be among the undergraduate and postgraduate programs available at the new DMU Dubai branch.

Multiple classrooms, a 700-seat auditorium, a library, IT, robotics, mechanical, and electrical labs, as well as architecture, fashion, and design studios, are all located on the purpose-built campus.

The launch of DMU Dubai coincides with DMU’s involvement in Expo 2020 as a founding partner of the UK Pavilion, which is run by the Department of International Trade of the United Kingdom (DIT).

DMU is showcasing much of its cutting-edge research in areas such as sustainable fashion, clever reuse of waste plastics, and creative artificial intelligence applications over the course of the six-month festival.

DMU and Study World Higher Education Services, DMU Dubai’s Academic Services Provider, have partnered to administer the Dubai campus.
