In its return to the campus with safety precautions still in place, the University of Central Florida (UCF) also welcomes the Class of 2025, dubbed one of the most accomplished incoming new students for fall classes.

Based on preliminary statistics, new UCF students set a record of an average GPA of 4.22, which is considered to be the strongest rate to date for an incoming batch. Moreover, the new class also garners SAT and ACT scores of 1323 and 28.6, respectively.

Key Takeaways:

  • The University of Central Florida welcomes the most accomplished incoming freshmen students in the university’s history for the fall semester.
  • The batch marks a record of an average GPA of 4.22, the strongest to date for an incoming class.
  • UCF continues to implement health and safety measures to ensure the well-being of students, faculty, and staff.

In terms of student achievement, the incoming fall freshmen class is composed of 107 National Merit Scholars from a United States academic scholarship competition for recognition and university scholarships administered by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), setting the highest in the history of incoming classes in the university.

With the institution anticipating to welcome a fall enrollment of approximately 69,000 to 70,000 students, the new students attending UCF also manifest the institution’s evident diversity, excellence, and inclusivity with a 46 percent composition of people of color in the overall student population.

As a representation of the student body of UCF, Student Government President Meg Hall said that they are all looking forward to transitioning to in-person classes and campus activities as these are necessary for them to strengthen their relationships with their peers and teachers.

While the university has heeded the calls of everyone for a comprehensive return to the campus, UCF continues to implement the directives provided by the State of Florida and Florida’s State University System.

Students, faculty, and staff are also urged to take precautionary measures according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), such as wearing masks indoors and getting vaccinated against COVID-19.

In fact, vaccines were made available for the UCF community at the Student Health Center and at select events during Pegasus Palooza, UCF’s multi-day welcome-back celebration for students.

Moving forward, the university will continue to provide free COVID-19 testing for students and employees, conduct contact tracing for positive cases, and activate the COVID-19 hotline for the campus community the whole week.
