In celebration of the annual International Education Week (IEW), Abcodo’s higher education institution partners launched engagement activities and spotlighted the impact of international students and exchange worldwide.

Adelphi University
From Nov. 13 to 18, Adelphi University will commemorate International Education Week. These events have become a campus tradition, bringing the university community together to celebrate the advantages of international education and global relationships.
The university provides the university community with the opportunity to dine around the world in the UC Cafe from Nov. 15 to 19.
Adelphi will also tackle academic opportunities and experiences virtually on Nov. 17 in Study Abroad: A Conversation With Adelphi Students Who Did It.
On the same day, the university also launched the International Sports Night for those interested in fitness and recreation; and Race in America for talks on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Adelphi will also cover in this celebration the LGBTQIA+ Around the World: The Refugee Experience and Our Sacred Relationship with the Environment.
Rochester Institute of Technology
International Education Week at RIT honors the university’s more than 2,000 international students. Each year, more than 400 RIT students leave their comfort zones to study abroad on short-term, semester, or academic year programs.
From Nov. 12 to 19, this year’s 8th Annual Global Learning Symposium will be held entirely online, with student presentations highlighting academic work completed while studying abroad or as part of Virtual Intercultural Experiences (VIEs).
In between the week-long symposium, RIT will also feature the following events, webinars, and workshops.

Auburn University at Montgomery
Auburn University at Montgomery draws excitement among its university community with its activities set for the celebration of International Education Week.
On Nov. 17, AUM blindfolds students for the International Drink Blind Taste Test and encourages them to try different international drinks to see if they can guess where they are from. They will also host Board Games and Global Trivia in which participants can play board games and answer global trivia.
On Nov. 18, participants can get to know one another and begin a discussion on a diversity-related topic in AUM’s Diversity Circle Session.
University of West Alabama
At the University of West Alabama, the Office of International Programs hosts the university’s first International Education Week. International student volunteers present activities to educate the university community about their countries’ cultures for five days.
The university’s dining selections don’t usually include Samovar-brewed Russian teas, dalgona candies from Korea, French crepes, or street-style Asian fusion delicacies, but in celebration of IEW, sampling the tastes and flavors from other continents are part of the fun.
UWA’s events include France Crepes and Coffee (Nov. 17), German day for presentations and refreshments (Nov. 18), Scotland and Ireland mini-session about culture and history with coffee and tea, and Korean Dalgona candy challenge (Nov. 19).
Florida International University
Filled with sessions regarding different programs FIU offers, the Education Abroad Showcase on Nov. 17 features sessions about scholarships, financial aid, international student exchange, faculty-led, and third-party programs. The showcase will continue to run until Nov. 18.
On the same day, FIU allows participants to join the Diversity & Multiculturalism Panel in Hospitality Human Resources to learn how companies create a more diverse, inclusive, impartial environment and workforce.
The last day of IEW at FIU marks “Becoming Global Citizens: FIU Internationalization in Action,” which will tackle the university’s global strategy and mission on international education.
Louisiana State University
Louisiana State University goes virtual for the observance of International Education Week. Continuing its events on Nov. 18, the International Education Week Reception is an opportunity for the participants to connect and network with the international community.
To sum up the week-long celebration, LSU lets the participants experience international cuisines and get to know the university’s international faculty and staff more through their personal recipes.
