American University’s Virtual Open House To Introduce CAS Graduate Programs

American University (AU) will be opening its three-day Fall 2021 Virtual Open House from Oct. 27–29 to give potential students the platform to learn what they need to know about the graduate programs at the College of Arts and Sciences.

The three-day virtual event will feature multiple webinars with admissions staff, faculty, and other university representatives who will address raised questions and concerns from the participants.

American University opened the event for free, and all attendees will receive an application fee waiver. Instructions for accessing Discover CAS Week will be emailed to all RSVPs by Monday, Oct. 25.

To provide an overview of the AU’s College of Arts & Sciences and its unique centers and resources, Assistant Dean Judith Stockmon will be welcoming the students to the Fall 2021 Virtual Open House on Oct. 27.

On the same day, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with faculty members from the graduate programs in Art History, Arts Management, Audio Technology, and Studio Art as well as with faculty members from the graduate programs in Creative Writing, History, Literature, Philosophy, TESOL, and the Asian Studies Graduate Certificate.

On Oct. 28, Assistant Director Jonathan Harper will be presenting the graduate application process, followed by a question and answer session.

Attendees also can meet the faculty panels from Social Sciences, Sciences, and Computer and Quantitative Sciences.

Meanwhile, on the last day of the Open House, Oct. 29, attendees will be joined by Fatmira Hoxha with AU’s International Student and Scholar Services office to learn more about its resources and the visa process.

Finally, participants of the event can get their questions answered from current graduate students from throughout CAS.
